This Week in Canadian EdTech Unboxing FrontRow Canada as part of the 13th Schools of the Future Challenge, Contest Prizing with Scott Vandenberg, Country Manager |

Dear Thought Leader,
I couldn't resist sharing this inspiring quote below from Eric Walters, renowned Canadian author and educator I came across on twitter yesterday. It's a brilliant perspective on coping with the pandemic.
"More and more I dream about the story I’m writing instead of the pandemic I’m living. It’s not only good for my soul it’s a subconscious signal I believe the light at the end of the tunnel is hope."
--Eric Walters, Author/Educator
It's a wonderful message to embrace a vision beyond the pandemic and while we're not yet out of it, we're thrilled to at least be resuming previously restricted outdoor activities on our Victoria Day long weekend!
We had a memorable MindShare Report AGM this week with our valued education and industry board of advisors. We look forward to infusing a greater focus education and industry expert insights as well as featuring innovative partnerships between education & business. We of course always value our readership feedback as well!
In appreciation of our board volunteers, I treated them to a gnocchi cooking class inspired by Dennis the Prescott, author of global Best-Selling Cookbook, Eat Delicious. Dennis is the son of C21 CEO academy member and friend, Doug Prescott, Supt of Schools, Canadian International Schools of Beijing, Dennis resides in N.B. and also hosts a highly popular Netflix show, Restaurants on the Edge. Incidentally, Dennis' journey beyond high school to his current career as a chef was not a direct path. It began first with a 10-year gig as a musician in Nashville, followed by a Business degree in the UK, and then a discovery and passion for cooking. A reminder that our kids and students will not likely be pursing one career in their lifetime.
As CEO of C21 Canada, I'm truly honoured to share and important webinar in our C21 Canada 10th Anniversary CIO Alliance Leadership Series, "Planning for Back to School>> Digital Equity & Internet Access Best Practices>> Emerging Models for Learning, June 11, 12 noon ET."
On the post-secondary front, be sure to checkout our MindShareTV podcast with Dr. Claude Martel, Concordia University, Director of the Institute of Co-operative Education on a mission to provide students with formative opportunities to thrive in this evolving global landscape. It was fascinating to explore the future of post-secondary education.
This Week in Canadian EdTech MindshareTV Podcast features Unboxing EdTech features the Schools of the Future [Student Engagement] Challenge product sponsor FrontRow with the latest product innovation.
Be sure to also tune into our MindshareTV podcast with the always inspiring and insightful Angela Maiers, educator, author & global keynoter on planning your summer professional learning program in preparation for back to school.
We are excited to be partnering with the Serious Play Conference June 23-25.
I hope you enjoy this week's Top 10 curated news stories that really provide a national lens and pulse for some of the incredible innovation happening across our vast Canadian landscape.
Special thanks to our team, board of advisors and valued partners, who enable us to share and stay connected with you on a weekly basis.
Until next time, stay healthy, stay safe and keep the learning curve steep! |

If there’s one thing families with children have learned during the pandemic, it’s the friction of living in a world where there are no boundaries between work, school and home.
“I’m used to having to do two jobs, but not having to do them both at the same time,” said Nadine LeBlanc, a Stittsville, Ont., human resources manager and mother of two.
