This Week in Canadian EdTech MindShareTV
Aman Sahota, Founder, Ei Amplified
Canada's EdTech Startup of the Year!
Happy Friday! This past week we've been immersed in wrapping up and reflecting on the recent hosting the 12th Canadian International EdTech Leadership Online Summit.

The exhilaration and the accolades received from hosting a complex interactive summit is rewarding, however, tempered by the reality that schools are back adapting to the new normal. Teachers and students are generally exhausted and no doubt looking forward to the December holiday break. I heard this first hand yesterday while on a webinar offered by Nelson and Peekapak on SEL. It stopped me in my tracks.

I ponder the question. What can the EdTech sector do to better support school systems across Canada and beyond. The fascinating thing about our Summit was that well-being and personal relationships mattered most. The human connections that were enabled through meaningful conversations using seamless technology tools are highly valued. As are resources catering to well-being and social emotional learning.

The Summit was very much an experiment in an effort to create an innovative 3D immersive online environment for professional learning purposes to overcome some of the backlash of online education this past year. While it wasn't perfect, it was powerful and we collectively learned vastly from each other.

If you didn't have an opportunity to attend the Summit, hopefully this issue of the CanAm Report will give you a glimpse into the promise and potential for the future of learning. It really comes down to design thinking and preparation to set the virtual stage, or in a hybrid format. Our Twitter Quotes of the Month Capture the essence of the experience. We extend our sincere gratitude to our gold partner Wacom and our presenting partner, Remo for powering our virtual platform that we will now be offering to our community; initially for professional learning purposes only.

We are now in the midst of creating our Future-proofiing EdTech Summit Playbook V2 that will be released next month featuring highlights of the Summit.

Special thanks to our presenters, sponsors, partners and delegates for making it an enriching learning experience.
