Secrets of Success! Last Year's National Winning Educator, Dean Vendramin, Shares Tips on Entering Schools of the Future Challenge, Student Impact & Professional Learning |
|
|
Dear Thought Leader,
Happy Friday! Eid Mubarak to everyone celebrating across Canada and beyond!
The Education Research Development & Innovation (ERDI) Canada conference in Victoria, B.C. was an outstanding success! Kudos to the organizers! Connecting with school district superintendents and business partner colleagues was incredibly insightful and inspiring. Our panel session provided deep learning into the challenges and opportunities to deploying EdTech across Canada. Partnerships in achieving mutually beneficial goals has never been more vital and relevant. What we know that is consistent across the country, the state of well-being amongst students remains a challenge. Teacher shortages are also problematic which presents opportunities for innovative solutions in both of those areas.
As a result, professional learning of any kind remains a challenge and a key element to successfully implementing new EdTech solutions; hence job embedded training is optimal. The bottom line is that EdTech solutions that are intuitive, impactful and time-saving, will provide the greatest value. Just a few insights to share! Please feel do reach out to me if you'd like to have a deeper discussion.
Insights we garnered will be infused in the program of our upcoming
15th Canadian EdTech Leadership Summit--Beyond Pockets of Excellence in Ottawa. Save the Date! November 2-3, 2023. We are accepting applications for presenters and sponsors!
Checkout this past week's featured keynote at ASU-GSV with Bill Gates and JessieWoolley-Wilson. Gates takes a deep dive in the world of EdTech, AI and why it remains a challenging space. It truly is about 'social entrepreneurship' as one of my masters profs once described; impact on student learning & teacher efficacy is equally as important as profit! Click here to view video.

This book is a collection of 40 world leading teachers, academics, influencers, critics and practitioners who have answered the question "have you ever walked out the door to go to work, the shops, the gym, etc. and realised you’d forgotten to pick up your smartphone? 3. Handwriting app for kids
Inspire kids to pick up a pen before a device. Your child is the creator. Technology is just the enabler. Children connect to their written words as the Narrator AR app launches letters off the page in augmented reality (AR). Great for visual learners, letters levitate off the page as a rocket or a rainbow unicorn trail and teach correct letter formation.
The app is safe, ad free, offline and its simplicity ensures that inquisitive fingers have an easy and fun experience.
