Welcome to our May CanAm EdTech Report. In this issue, we share critical insights, trends, and research in the K12 & higher education space to help keep you at the forefront of innovation.
This week's InnovateHERs MindShareTV Podcast Series Episode 7 features inspirational leader, Dr. Anjlee Prakash, Founder, Learning Links Foundation (India) on how her leadership style was influenced through passion and persistence.
As I reflect on my journey in the learning & technology sector, I think of the many leaders & mentors who sparked my interests and passions around EdTech efficacy.
My particular interest has evolved around evidence-based research that drives innovation and how school districts are measuring the impact of EdTech apps and usage.
At the recent ERDI conference, I led a session that partly focused on efficacy of ICT implementations inspired by a previous U.S. study that suggested a staggering 85% of EdTech installs fail. It appears to remain a pain-point in education to measure the ROI, or ROA 'return on achievement' as I coined the phrase many years ago.
The bottom line is that educational institutions are licensing anywhere from 100-500 apps, many of which are not being measured in any meaningful way, or receive little use. This apparent gap in the EdTech sector is a pain point that I'm passionate about addressing.
I would love to hear from a school district, or post-secondary institution leader as to 'best practices' and success stories around EdTech app implementations that we can perhaps share in one of our upcoming reports.

In closing, I would be remiss if I didn't pay tribute to my father in law, Ilija Rusnov, who passed recently. Very much a father figure to me, Ilija was a Croatian immigrant, who made his family and education the highest priority for his children. They thrived and he was much beloved. Thank you for setting such a high bar for parental engagement. RIP Ilija. You will be greatly missed!
